COPYRIGHT - MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Under the Federal Copyright Act of 1976, photographs are protected by copyright from the moment of creation. ... Unless you have permission from the photographer, you can't copy, distribute (no scanning and sending them to others), publicly display (no putting them online), or create derivative works from photographs.(Cla.co.uk, 2018)
As a photographer, I know that even if my photos have no
protective symbol on it – there are still protected - as there are mine.
Last year in summer I had a request of commission. A
Painting. Usually I look for inspiration between my own stock photos, but object
I been requested to paint I never captured before.
A Volkswagen Beatle, old model. My client was looking for something
nice to go in her son’s bedroom, but as much as she looked she couldn’t find
suitable print as usually there is only campervans on posters.
I did suitable research and found perfect image to paint,
but not being my own I faced dilemma. I could not ask photographer permission
to paint it, but then there is no chance I could post it on my photography and
art page I manage on Facebook, which would be really silly of me. /LOFT SPACE -

So, I decided to go and find who’s the author of image I want
to recreate. Thanks GOD for internet and social media platforms. Within a week
I recover the author and also find him on the Facebook. He was German Photographer
and passionate motorist. He was very amazed with my request and let me go ached
with it as long as I change the original number plate.
After completing my work, I was able post it for everyone to
see and also able to pay credit for the person who let me use his lovely image.
There is no problem using other people’s copyright product
as long as there is some general rules applied to it.
Possibly I was lucky, but there is always a way as long as
there is a WILL.
That was the work I created.
