SUMMARY
As I discussed,
it is important to consider copyright, moral rights, consumer protection issues...etc.,
including misleading and deceptive conduct, when creating an artwork.
Knowing all legalisations and guidelines
are especially important if our art practice – involving appropriate elements
of work from existing artistic works or working with public.
The
laws and guidelines discussed below – in previous posts may often appear to
restrict or inhibit the creation of new art but living a present-day society it
is important to consider that these laws and guidelines also protect your work
from unauthorised use, derogatory treatment or use in a way which may mislead
or deceive the public.
Copyright
law probably plays the main role of protecting the income streams of all
artists, but then again, it’s only applied in USA and Europe.
However, the purpose
of all these guidelines is to codify the best practice for the reproduction and
communication of visual art via digital or other distribution methods
There were no many guidelines I could apply to my
success story, as massive time gap separates world where Leonardo lived and
worked, from present days. No many rules been fallowed back then and low was mainly
protecting wealthy community. Although considering his success I believe it didn’t
much bother him - common sense was the main guideline.
Now the law
serves to protect the work an artist creates, so as act as a restrictive
condition to work around. Whatever it is we must work legally fallowing in our
best ability these existing guidelines.
